Four S.5 students participated in the Jockey Club Responsible Consumption Programme – Hong Kong Secondary School Marketing Contest 2019 which was organised by the Department of Marketing, School of Business, Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) and the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust.

Students were required to attend a workshop on 30 March to learn basic video filming skills and media ethics. After the workshop, they needed to produce a 1-minute promotion video to encourage the general public to reduce using plastic, and make them understand that everyone should be responsible to consume less “plastic”.

Finally, our team was shortlisted as one of the 25 finalists from 111 entries. Students were invited to visit the S-Gallery to see the exhibitions of biological resources, organic agriculture and sustainable consumption on 25 May 2019.

From 22 to 23 June 2019, our students joined a 2-day and 1-night camp in the HKBU campus. During the camp, they had a chance to attend lectures conducted by University Professors and a mentor was appointed to teach our students to write a marketing proposal. Afterwards, students were required to conduct a 10-minute oral presentation to introduce their “School Sea Heaven” programme to the judges. During the Q&A session, our students impressed the judges by giving clear and quick responses to all the questions raised by the judges. Finally they were awarded the Championship and the Best Oral Presentation Team Award.
