New Zealand Eco-Exploration Study Tour

From June 28th to July 9th, 2026, our students embarked on an enriching 12-day educational journey to New Zealand under the guidance of our dedicated teachers. Designed as an immersive eco-exploration, the tour offered students a firsthand look into New Zealand’s unique heritage, rich biodiversity, and spectacular geological landscapes, with itineraries spanning Auckland, Rotorua, and their breathtaking surrounding regions.

This experiential learning trip allowed our students to broaden their global perspectives, build resilience, and step out of their comfort zones.

Below are the inspiring insights and highlights shared by our students from their unforgettable journey:
Our journey kicked off in Auckland, where we had the incredible privilege of visiting Macleans College and Papatoetoe High School. Sitting side-by-side with local students in their classrooms gave us a true taste of Kiwi school life. We were deeply moved by the powerful traditional M?ori welcoming ceremony and loved touring their expansive campuses. Engaging with local peers not only gave a massive boost to our English communication skills and confidence, but interacting with the local teachers and students also truly opened our eyes to new ways of learning.

Next, we dived into the country's innovation history at MOTAT (Museum of Transport and Technology) and the MOTAT Aviation Hall, where we tracked New Zealand’s fascinating technological evolution. At the Auckland Zoo, we got up close with local endemic species—especially their unique native birds—which really brought the importance of wildlife conservation to life for us.

Heading toward Rotorua, we witnessed the magic of nature inside the Waitomo Glowworm Caves, where the subterranean ceilings were lit up like a starry night. To crown the experience, we spent an evening at the Mitai Maori Village. Watching the vibrant cultural performances and tasting a traditional "Hangi" feast (cooked in an authentic earth oven) gave us a profound appreciation for the unique charm of Maori heritage.

The adventure didn't stop there. We also crossed over to Rangitoto Island to conduct fieldwork on its fascinating volcanic terrain, standing right on the shield volcano. To wrap up our journey, we tried our hands at sailing and explored the New Zealand Maritime Museum, discovering how deeply connected this nation's history and culture are to the great wide ocean.

This New Zealand study tour was so much more than a sightseeing trip. Witnessing such spectacular landscapes and rich cultural traditions has ignited a genuine passion within us for environmental conservation and global cultures. The lessons we learned and the inspiration we gathered will undoubtedly encourage us to keep exploring, learning, and growing in the future!
