The second term’s ‘‘One Class One Activity’’ event took place on the afternoon of March 12 and was a great success, with classes putting together a wide range of activities. Some chose to stay on campus, enjoying films, karaoke parties, and ball games, while others headed off campus for more immersive community experiences. One class, for instance, took part in ‘‘Dialogue in the Dark,’’ where students gained a firsthand sense of what life is like for the visually impaired and learned to be more empathetic and inclusive towards people with different needs in society. Another class visited the Safe Community Hub, where hands-on interactive exhibits taught students how to respond to the threat of terrorist attacks and better protect both themselves and their community.
Apart from providing students an opportunity to bond in a relaxed setting, the event also sharpened their communication and collaboration skills. Each class committee took the lead in organising their own activity, and through the shared experience of planning and participating together, students came away with a deeper understanding of the importance of teamwork.
