"National Security and Youth Development Forum" and Greater Bay Area Youth Innovation Exchange and Study Tour

From April 12 to 13, ten Grade 10 students participated in the "National Security and Youth Development Forum" and Greater Bay Area Youth Innovation Exchange and Study Tour held in Nansha, Guangzhou. The event featured a wide range of enriching activities, including visits to technological facilities, entrepreneurship experiences, and thematic forums. It provided students with valuable learning opportunities and inspired deep reflections on their future development.

Day One: Exploring Technology and Entrepreneurship Opportunities
On the first day, the students visited several iconic technological facilities and entrepreneurship bases, gaining a deeper understanding of the close connections between technological innovation and youth development.

Visit to The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) Campus
The students toured the campusˇ¦s engineering and mechanical laboratories, where they observed cutting-edge robotics technology and the latest scientific research outcomes up close. Through professional explanations provided by staff, they gained a more intuitive understanding of advanced technology applications and experienced the integration of academics and practical innovation.


Visit to the GAC Technology Museum
At the GAC Technology Museum, the students learned about the latest models of smart electric vehicles, the operating principles of hydrogen-powered vehicles, high-efficiency power battery systems, and hybrid vehicles. They also visited a robotics restaurant, where they witnessed robots making hamburgers firsthand, experiencing the limitless possibilities of artificial intelligence in daily life.


Tour of Chuangxiang Bay
As a youth entrepreneurship incubation base, Chuangxiang Bay provides abundant resources and support for startups. During the tour, students gained insights into the operation of startups and were inspired by the innovative atmosphere, sparking their interest in entrepreneurship.


Participation in the "National Security and Youth Development Forum"
The highlight of the day was the "National Security and Youth Development Forum". The forum featured distinguished speakers, including Mr. Gao Min (Dean of the Fok Ying Tung Research Institute), Mr. Pang Tao (Associate Professor at Guangzhou Socialist College), Mr. Lau Kwok-hun and Mr. Tang Fei (Members of the Legislative Council of the Hong Kong SAR Government), and Mr. Ng Ka-fai (Guangzhou CPPCC Committee Member and Youth Entrepreneur).
The forum delved into key topics such as:

  • The impact of the Sino-US trade war on the economy and national security,
  • The prospects of youth entrepreneurship and development in Hong Kong,
  • Opportunities and future outlook for development in Nansha, Guangzhou,
  • The importance of national security and stability.

Students actively raised questions and engaged in discussions with the experts, gaining a wealth of knowledge and insights.
Evening Banquet
The evening banquet further facilitated interaction, providing students with the opportunity to engage closely with the guests, broaden their horizons, and deepen their understanding.

Day Two: The Intersection of History and Technology
The second day of the event focused on the themes of engineering technology and historical heritage, allowing students to explore the connection between technological advancements and national development from a different perspective.
Visit to the Tunnel Museum
At the Tunnel Museum, students learned about the history and technological evolution of tunnel construction, gaining insights into the importance of shield tunneling technology in tunnel building. Additionally, they explored the challenges and risks faced in railway, underwater, and mountain tunnel construction, as well as gas pipeline engineering, and how technological innovations are used to overcome these difficulties.
Visit to the Fok Ying Tung Memorial Hall
The memorial hall showcased the life and contributions of Mr. Fok Ying Tung, highlighting his selfless patriotism and dedication to the nation. Through the exhibitions, students were deeply moved by Mr. Fokˇ¦s unwavering support for national development, gaining a profound understanding of the enduring value of patriotism.

The "National Security and Youth Development Forum" and Greater Bay Area Youth Innovation Exchange and Study Tour was a rich and impactful event. Students not only enhanced their understanding of technological innovation and national security issues but also broadened their horizons and strengthened their confidence in future development through exchanges with experts and scholars. This event has inspired young participants to actively engage in the great cause of national development and technological innovation, helping them recognize their mission and responsibilities more deeply.
