The Great Wall

The recent four-day, three-night exchange program in Beijing was incredibly rewarding. We not only visited historical landmarks such as the Forbidden City, the Great Wall, and Yuanmingyuan, but we also explored the National Museum of China and the Museum of the Chinese Communist Party, gaining a deep appreciation for the richness of Chinese culture and its historical significance. However, what left the most lasting impression on me was the exchange activities with our sister school, Beijing No. 5 Middle School.

At the sister school, we received a warm welcome. The students prepared an exciting performance titled "Voice of Beijing No. 5," and engaged us in meaningful interactions. By participating in their classes for half a day, we shared our learning experiences and amusing stories from our lives. Despite coming from different cultural backgrounds, our shared thirst for knowledge and aspirations for the future were strikingly similar. The students were focused and serious in class, eagerly answering questions, which helped me integrate into their learning environment. This exchange made me realize that while language and culture may differ, sincere communication can bridge distances between us.

This experience not only broadened my horizons but also allowed me to make many new friends. I felt the historical depth of Beijing, our country's capital, and the friendly warmth of the teachers and students at our sister school. This experience will become a precious memory on my journey of growth. I hope there will be more opportunities like this in the future, enabling us to continue learning and growing through exchanges, and to sustain this newfound friendship.
