Nine Form 4 students joined the Liberal Studies Programme 2016-2017 ¡§Healthy Lifestyle, Food Safety and Social Wellness¡¨, held by the Hong Kong Tuberculosis, Chest and Heart Diseases Association. Two teams won the competition with bright results, and were awarded the Championship and the Second Prize among over 60 teams.
This year the theme of the Programme was ¡§Healthy Lifestyle, Food Safety and Social Wellness¡¨. It was held with the aim of arousing concerns on healthy lifestyle and dining habits among the public. Each team is required to take up a research project relating to the theme, cumulate in the production of an innovative project with a proposal, abstract and written report.
Nine Form 4 students formed two teams, their enquiry topics were ¡§³ÁÀqµL»D¡¨ and ¡§°í«Y¥ñ?¡¨. The two teams investigated the issues of processed wheat products and processed nuts. In early May, the two teams submitted the project abstracts and delivered a presentation in the preliminary. On 27 May 2017, they presented in the final competition and attended the award presentation ceremony in the Hong Kong Central Library. The two teams won the Senior Form Championship and the Second Prize and were interviewed by local newspapers and the press. Apart from winning the honourable championship, the team gained valuable experience and knowledge about how to do an independent enquiry and wished to apply what they learnt to contribute Hong Kong society.
