From 15 to 17 November 2016, there was a three-day exchange programme between South Tuen Mun Government Secondary School (STMGSS) and Queen Elizabeth School. Three of our S5 schoolmates went to STMGSS and four from STMGSS came to QES. Before the day I went to the school, Lisa, my buddy at STMGSS, greeted me and reminded me of what to bring and be aware of in her school through WhatsApp.
It was a special experience for me because the subjects I study were not provided at STMGSS. The school assigned Lisa, who studies Social Management and Social Care, to pair up with me. The lessons at STMGSS were quite different from ours and Social Management and Social Care is a novel subject for me. In the lessons, the teacher showed the class a video and taught us how to analyze the information and draw conclusion from the data. The skills were very useful and could be applied in our daily life.
I enjoyed myself thoroughly in the lessons even though I do not study this subject. Apart from that, I found that students' learning attitudes towards their studies were excellent. They actively answered their teachers' questions and enthusiastically attended the activities designed by their teachers in the lessons. After school hours, my buddy and her friends took us to play bowling. We knew each other much better and got closer through the sports game.
Last but not least, I would like to send my sincere thanks to Queen Elizabeth School and South Tuen Mun Government Secondary School for creating such wonderful memories for me in my secondary school life. Studying in another school not only broadens my horizons and gives me an opportunity to make many new friends, but also allows me to experience the learning atmosphere of a different school, which helps me reflect on my learning. The remarkable moments I spent with my buddy and friends will be in my heart forever! Thank you!
